We’ve had a real variety of Scottish weather over the last four days, ranging from bright sunshine to torrential downpours. We’ve made good progress on our route North, and we’ve seen some interesting things along the way, including proper Scottish castles, the site of the last battle on British soil, some Pictish stones… oh, and some dolphins.
Chips, chips, chips….. We’ve spent much of the last four days salivating over the fish and chips awaiting us at the award-winning Bay Fish & Chips in Stonehaven.
Our planned one week turnaround back at home base turned into two and a half weeks whilst we ploughed through some of our motorhome warranty issues….
It’s been a few days since our last post, but we haven’t been resting on our laurels. We’ve visited three National Trust properties, Titanic Belfast and the Ulster Museum, as well as exploring Belfast itself.
The Giant’s Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge are among the attractions not to be missed by any self-respecting visitor to Northern Ireland. For Mark, though, both were eclipsed by his visit to the hallowed ground of Joey’s Bar in Ballymoney……
The last few days have taken us through the Fermanagh lakelands and back into the Republic of Ireland and Donegal.
