The Flying Saga, continued……

We headed down to Dinas Dinlle and spent Friday night at the beach both last weekend and the weekend before (our second and third Friday nights there in a row), but sadly the weather was uncooperative and Mark didn’t get to do his microlight flight. “Red Sky at Night” lied….

On Sunday of last week, Roger and Sally arrived from York for a few days’ visit, so tourism has been in order. We managed to fit in visits to Beaumaris, Plas Cadnant gardens, Penrhyn Castle, and Aber Falls, and to take a trip to Puffin Island as well as a few other diversions (Roger went fishing, Sally and I checked out the new gluten free cafe in town, we went to see a film, took a trip to Crug Farm to buy some plants…….).

All this was achieved despite the arrival of the window fitters on Wednesday morning. There are no “before and after” photos yet as the job is still nowhere near finished. The new kitchen windows went in ok but enlarging the window openings in the old outhouse at the back seems to be causing them some difficulties…..

Roger and Sally departed on Friday and we headed back to Dinas Dinlle for another glorious sunset.

Then FINALLY, Mark managed to do his microlight flight today!  (in the photo with the plane he’s a speck in the distance to the left of the four cotton wool clouds)

Mark would like it to be known that he is now ready for the Top Gun sequel and is taller than Tom Cruise…..

Then a trip to Plas Brondanw gardens (the home of Clough Williams-Ellis who created Portmeirion) and back home through Snowdonia…

That’s all for now…..
