Coniston

Undeterred by the wind and rain on Snowdon on Sunday, on Monday I headed up to the Lake District for more of the same…..

Kampington and I had arranged to meet up with Yvonne and Adriana the Adria at Coniston Park Coppice camp site, Yvonne having travelled up to the Lake District on Friday and spent a few nights at Kendal before heading over to Coniston on Monday morning.

On Monday night, Yvonne drove us into Coniston and we went to the Black Bull for food (chicken & chips for me, haddock & chips for Yvonne. The Bluebell Bitter from the Coniston Brewing Co. was nice…).

The weather on Tuesday was grim, so we headed off in Kampington to the South Lakes Safari Zoo.

The weather was much better on Wednesday, so we had a walk into Coniston.

Yvonne headed home on Thursday morning and I went to Kendal then on to Chester for a night at Little Roodee. I made some good progress at the record office on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning before heading on to Colwyn Bay then Bangor.
